Cards and Joy
I just got a note from DeivantART about a little program called the Holiday Card Project.
This is also open to non-DeivantART community as well ( so everyone can also send in the cards for the project ). Basically it is with a goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season -- artists or anyone that wish to help from all around the world and apply a bit of artistic talent in designing or a simple thoughts and words to cheer some of the patients in the hospital.
Personally I think it sounds like a nice idea and I feel that greeting cards are for more than holidays; they are a great way to express yourself and to keep in touch with friends and family. A personal note on a beautiful card will make a lasting impression and a touching keepsake.
According to the DeviantART website:
"Last year it has received well over 1200 holiday cards sent in by more than 700 cards from 44 different countries/political regions. Those cards were then divvied up and distributed in person by DeviantART members at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, California. Extra cards were given to various hospitals in the U.S. and Canada for their staff to hand out to patients."
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is to simply try and do something nice for others. To do so you can:
Send the cards to this address:
DeviantART, Inc.
Holiday Card Project
7095 Hollywood Blvd., #788
Hollywood, CA 90028
U.S.A.
Note that : All cards should be received by December 17th, 2007.
*Be as creative as you like. Just remember, the degree of illness for patients will vary from mild to terminal, so it is important to be cheerful. Some suggested greetings include, "Hope you're feeling better," "Thinking of you," or "Have a nice day." Try and stay away from "Get well soon" as it might not be appropriate for all patients. Remember to include a message of "Happy holidays" as the cards will be distributed for the holidays.

As for my readers, I have also decided to do an E-card to thank all of you, too.
By using an online web tool, you can now send this cards to your friends or loved ones, too. This sounds perfect for friends living overseas.
If you would like to have a hard copy, you can download it and print it out here too but for the ones without watermarks with high quality print you can order it from my shop. The envelopes are included and it measures 5" X 7".
You can send it by softcopy over here by clicking on the card below:

More design will be coming soon.
